@hand is a growing enterprise mobile software company based in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a Technical Writer who will be responsible for managing various documentation projects. Responsibilities
Creates and maintains customer-facing technical manuals, user guides, and implementation guides.
Writes additional text as needed, such as APIs, FAQs, and release notes.
Assists with creating documentation for online and portable formats.
Qualifications
Five years relevant work experience in researching and writing complete, accurate, and usable documentation for software developers and end-users
Ability to manage multiple writing projects in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to quickly learn new tools, concepts, and procedures
Ability to use applicable documentation standards, processes, tools and quality measures (in a Windows environment)
Familiarity with: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, webservers, web technologies, content authoring tools
Knowledge of the following concepts or topics: mobility software and hardware, .NET framework, IDEs, server/client relationships, relational databases, and middleware
Experience (preferred)
Developing documentation in an Agile software environment
Documenting enterprise-level products
Curating documentation deliverables made up of a combination of edited and crowd-sourced content submitted by an open community of developers, administrators and users
Screen-casting and creating supporting graphics
Oracle, Maximo, and/or SAP experience (user or administrator) Content Management Systems and/or Learning Management System experience
Ability to read and understand source code written in modern object-oriented languages (C#, C, C++, etc.)
