Volusion is looking for a technical writer to develop, deliver and maintain documentation that helps our internal and external partners build themes for our merchants. As a member of our product team, this role participates in an agile development team and is responsible for articulating clear reference implementations as well as detailed method-level instruction. The intended audiences include web developers, web designers, and e-commerce merchants with a wide range of technical skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver quick-starts, tutorials, and mult-media content for front-end web developers
Generate working examples
Write FAQs for various Volusion service offerings
Actively participate in the agile process
Revise and publish content in response to feedback and usability analysis
Ensure documentation has consistent look with other Volusion developer-level documentation
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of experience writing for front-end web developers and web designers
Familiar with APIs
Demonstrate success in designing and writing documentation in an approachable tone
Interested in web design and theme-building principles
Comfortable working in a web development environment
Advocate for product improvements and usability
Flexible and willing to change focus based on shifting priorities
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATONS:
Familiar with web tools and languages such as XHTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, and JQuery
Competent using development tools
Familiar with .NET framework
Interested in creating multi-media tutorials
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent work experience
