Technical writer: contract Seahorse Bioscience
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Summary Works closely with the software development team to document software requirements and descriptions of software algorithms, architecture and methods. Under guidance from the software team, provide consistent formatting of content for internally focused development documentation. The position is directly responsible for generating written documentation from verbal communication with the software development staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Attend software development meetings and create draft software description documentation as a result of those meetings
2.Coordinate review of these requirements and incorporate refinements provided from the team.
3.Create a common look and feel for all documentation regarding technical processes and best practices across disciplines
4.Assess what documentation exists and ensure it is accurate and complies with overall look and feel of the interface you will create
5.Assess what documentation needs to be created, collaborate with content providers to create it and ensure it complies with the overall look and feel of the interface you will create
6.Assist the team in making the documentation more discoverable utilizing standard search methods
7.Communicate with the team in written and verbal form to refine documentation for final approval.
Requires an associates or certificate designation and 5 years experience in technical writing, with 2 years experience working with software documentation.
Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry and a minimum of 1 year of experience as a technical writer fulfills the position requirements.
Experience in creating software documentation for a technical audience
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Working knowledge of C# is a big plus
