As a key team member, the Technical Writer/Instructional Design applies a unique blend of technical writing, instructional design, and training expertise to create and deliver blended learning solutions and custom projects for Cornerstone clients.Responsibilities
Identifies appropriate learning methods and designs, develops and revises instructional materials for instructor-led, online, and self-study delivery methods; also develops job aids and other reference materials focused on meeting defined learning objectives
Maintains current training materials and documentation including, but not limited to:
Training guides
Quick Reference Cards
Online Course Storyboards
Release Documentation
FAQ
Develop client-facing products including:
Scripting content in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs)
Reviewing scripts to ensure they are consistent with instructional theories and corporate templates and standards
Preparing audio script
Storyboarding
Participating in product review and providing critical and constructive feedback to improve final product
Implement and manage edit cycles based on client feedback
Contribute to product enhancement, new product development and implementation of new innovative ideas (i.e. instructional methods, interactivity, graphics and animations) to ongoing projects
Communicate with SMEs of all levels as necessary to ensure technical accuracy of all materia
Create documents that are aimed towards different audiences, including end-users, system administrators, and implementation professionals, and are both visually appealing as well as instructive to the desired audience
Review existing documentation, identify gaps and establish workplan to resolve documentation gaps
Generate and manipulate graphic images, animations and text into consolidated and seamless multimedia materials as single deliverable or as part of a larger learning program
Deliver live or virtual instruction to internal and external clients on an as-needed basis
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in related field
3 years experience Instructional Design, Technical Writing or Training
Demonstrated ability in applying adult-learning theories and instructional design principles to materials design
Practical experience designing instructional materials and instructionally sound PowerPoint presentations
Experience using MS Office, Adobe Captivate, Articulate or Adobe Presenter
