Technical Writer New Relic
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED New Relic
We build the easiest-to-use Software Analytics tools in the world, but we're not perfect. Customers occasionally need a little help installing one of our New Relic APM agents, or maybe they need help writing a New Relic Insights query. That's where you come in; we're looking for someone to join our Technical Writing team to write and manage detailed how-to and troubleshooting documentation.
If you're the right candidate, you'll know how to turn technobabble into language anyone can understand. You'll have the ability to identify our customers' biggest challenges and translate that data into simple, easy-to-follow articles. You'll be able to organize documentation to make our information architecture easy to navigate and tweak meta-data so user searches work like magic.
We're looking for a unique individual, someone who . . .
--Loves writing, loves explaining concepts simply, and works in many forms of media.
--Is a great communicator - someone who knows how to cut through jargon and create great content that anyone in our multi-national customer base can understand.
--Has experience writing in a software development environment. It's often said that technical writers don't need to be experts in the topics they write on, they only need to know which experts to ask for help. At New Relic, you'll certainly have experts to talk to, but the closer your experience level is to being a software developer yourself, the better your chances.
--Can interpret search data, ticket drivers, and anecdotal information from the Support team to determine what knowledge base topics will have the most impact on the customer experience.
--Is creative - you think outside of the box, but you also know that thinking outside the box is a clich-, and you have a much cooler way to say it.
--Knows how to collaborate cross-functionally with people in all ranks, teams, and disciplines across the company.
