Technical Writer - Sales Digital Signal
Job Description :
This position is responsible for coordinating, writing, tracking progress, editing and packaging a variety of technical documents for supporting proposal responses managed by the bids and contracts group. This position will facilitate the technical proposal process, interacting with sales, product management, engineering, project management, bids and contracts, and operations staff to interpret RFPs and analyze the proposal?s technical requirements to determine the best value approach, and prepare responses to ensure a compliant response while positioning the company for a positive evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with sales, product managers, engineers, and executives to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for inclusion into RFP responses.
Prepare written content in response to customer requirements; edit, standardize, make changes or write up draft and finalize materials prepared by others to ensure consistency of messaging and alignment to DSC?s proposed solution to meet client objectives.
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to RFP requirements regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
Support the development of the Executive Summary within RFPs.
Develop and maintain library and other proposal tools and assets that are reusable for future proposal efforts
Manage and coordinate with Director of Product Management to meet required RFP completion dates.
Review competitive RFP responses and share that knowledge with sales to enhance DSC?s sales strategy.
Develop/write content for presentations and other visual materials
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in a related field
Minimum of 6 years delivering technical solutions in a commercial environment
Must have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.?
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience in authoring all or key portions of technical responses for RFP?s
Ability to multi-task: organize and prioritize multiple on-going projects
Ability to interface with senior executives
Ability to work independently, function effectively as a team member, and adhere to strict deadlines.?
Ability to analyze complex situations and make sound recommendations for solutions.?
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in a technical field
3-5 years experience with technical writing in support of electro optic, camera, facial recognition, or biometric systems
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, etc.;
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Work Environment:
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office area with ability to frequently work in a manufacturing/lab environment.
The noise level in this environment is low/moderate.
