THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED As a key team member, the Technical Writer applies a unique blend of technical writing, training expertise, and instructional design to document technical specifications related to data integrations for clients. Technical Writer should have knowledge of database structures as well as extensive use of software experience mapping user interface screen shots to data mapping templates.
Producing accurate and detailed data mapping templates is critical.
You?ll interview technical project managers, software developers, configuration consultants, product managers, and other subject matter experts to gather information and develop a world class offering through a combination of documentation, training, and instructional design.
The Technical Writer will be measures on the completeness and accuracy captured in the documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with teammates and supervisors include remote workers. Documentation will include adding screenshots from the portal and use case scenarios to the appendix with easy to follow instructions for client use.
The ability to produce documentation on a web layer using HTML or other methods is desired.
Maintains technical documentation including, but not limited to:
Data integration technical specifications
Presentation slides that provide a technical overview for clients, sales, or other audience
Storyboards that can be used in creating online courses
Develop and maintain ?how-to? and ?why-to? material for use in creating data files
Job aids and other reference material focused on meeting defined learning objectives
Technical documentation structure including, but not limited to:
Create documents that are aimed towards different audiences, including end-users, system administrators, and implementation professionals, and are both visually appealing as well as instructive to the desired audience
Documentation of technical library of reference material, and standard processes
Communicating your understanding of relational database management structure (RDMS) in an easy way to clients to interpret
Develop client-facing products including:
Deliver live or virtual instruction to internal and external clients on an as-needed basis
Incorporate use of Corporate marketing templates and standards in printed an web material
Project management including, but not limited to:
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Implement and manage documentation edit cycles based on client feedback
Review existing documentation, identify gaps and establish workplan to resolve documentation gaps
Communicate with SMEs of all levels as necessary to ensure technical accuracy of all material
Participating in product review and providing critical and constructive feedback to improve final product
Gather multiple source feedback and incorporate comments into the overall documentation process
Generate and manipulate graphic images, animations and text into consolidated and seamless multimedia materials as single deliverable or as part of a larger data integration project
Work with software developers and engineers to understand high-level technical components
Learn the process through hands-on experience and testing
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in related field
3 years? experience in Technical Writing, Training, or Instructional Design
Ability to grasp complex systems
Ability to thoroughly document and articulate system behaviors in a way that basic users can understand
Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management, or organizational skills
Strong self-initiative, self-starter and flexibility are a must
Practical experience designing instructional materials for a technical audience and instructionally sound PowerPoint presentations
Experience using MS Office, Adobe Captivate, Articulate or Adobe Presenter desired
