We are currently seeking candidates for a Technologist Assistant in our Alexandria center, a service of Douglas County Hospital. This part-time position will work evenings and occasional weekends/holidays as needed.
Provides assistance to technologists in areas that allow them to maintain an on-time schedule and run the scanning area in an orderly fashion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
?Creates a positive experience for every customer, every day
?Monitors MRI schedule, schedules on scanner(s), adjusting patients schedule when necessary and keeping all techs informed of any changes
?Greets and escorts patients to changing room; gives a brief description of procedure
?Transport patients (stretcher or wheelchair) to MRI
?Assists patients on and/or off table when requested by technologist
?Prepares room set up between patients, including putting proper coil on table and putting previous coil away and changing table sheet
?Document scan information in RIS system
?Assign and push current and previous imaging to radiologist as needed
?Reviews paperwork to ensure it is complete and scans completed paperwork into RIS
?Prints schedules for next day
?Look up & document all previous exams for next day?s returning patients
?Look up patient?s previous blood pressure, lab work for next day exam
?Stocks and cleans work and control areas and MRI room(s)
?Ensures that all MRI patient areas are stocked and organized in a neat and tidy manner
?Cleans and stocks patient prep room and patient restroom
?Stocks linen at the end of the night
?Organizes and cleans supply closet and computer rooms
?Checks with MRI & CT technologists for additional duties as needed
?Helps the technologist stay on time by having the next patient ready before the current patient is ready to get off the table, even if you are working on other tasks.

?Skill in organizing and prioritizing of work, and following assignments through to completion
?Skill in written and verbal communication
?Knowledge of medical terminology
?Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
?Knowledge of safety techniques needed for staff and patients
?Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols
?Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines
?High school diploma or equivalent
?Enrollment in current radiologic technologist program preferred
?Must have good organizational skills
