We are seeking a Technologist Assistant. Under close supervision, coordinate, transport and deliver patients for scheduled examinations in a safe and timely manner. Assist technologist in the throughput of patient procedures.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Greet patients, obtain proper screening history and verify patient?s identity to ensure correct patient is being transported. Transport patient in safe and comfortable manner.
Verify that medical equipment and ancillary medical equipment attached to patient is in proper working condition.
Review patient history information with the technologist.
Assist in patient movement or transfer from wheelchair or gurney to scanning table.
Develop proper positioning skills for routine examination, maintaining patient comfort.
Perform filming and proper development of films in a timely manner. Assist with patient registration, appointment setting and confirmation of patient appointments.
Ensure that all departmental equipment is properly disinfected and in good working order.
Maintain linen and accessory supplies and assist when patient may need such supplies.
Perform filing, film delivery and other related clerical duties as needed.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
High school graduate or equivalent.
CPR Certification.
Desirable:
Prior patient transport or direct patient care experience.
Previous medical office experience.
EMT Certification.
ARRT Registry eligible.
Read, interpret, communicate and understand a second language.
Knowledge:
Proper body mechanics.
Basic medical equipment operation.
Healthcare operations and safety requirements.
Customer service principles and techniques.
Medical front office procedures, medical terminology, basic typing, record keeping
and basic computer applications.
OSHA principles and practices.
OSHA Class I training on exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
Skills/Abilities:
Basic computer skills.
Handle calls using proper telephone etiquette.
Operate standard office equipment.
Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads.
Verify, copy, fax and distribute documents and messages as required.
Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
Special Requirements/Certification:
CPR Certification.
May be required to drive long distances to mobile locations.
Physical demands include lifting, pushing, climbing and bending.
May require use of personal vehicle for business purposes.
