Telecommunications Installation and Operations Technician Tower Cloud

Summary: Tower Cloud seeks to hire an experienced Telecommunications Technician to support its communications network. Position is responsible for installation, testing, turn-up and maintenance of customer premise/transport equipment (Ethernet, SONET and microwave systems), including AC and DC power.

Responsibilities: Install, test and maintain telecommunications equipment working from CAD drawings, engineering specifications, construction packages and other documents. Complete ?as built? drawings at completion of projects.
Utilize knowledge of multiple telecom transport protocols to resolve issues.
Perform testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards. Coordinate with NOC personnel in the isolation and clearance of network problems.
Coordinate activities and interface with customers, contractors, and vendors for the successful completion of work assignments.

Required: Demonstrated knowledge of SONET, TDM, DWDM, fiber optics, microwave systems, alarms systems, digital cross connects, and other WAN protocols
Proficiency in telecommunications transport protocols including OC48, OC192 and DWDM (Nortel, Ceragon microwave, Alcatel, Jungle Mux and Pulsar)
Must have proven track record in hot cut-overs with traffic-bearing system
Working knowledge of national telecommunications and power codes (TIA/EIA, OSHA, NESC, ASME, ANSI, NEMA, etc.
Ability to analyze problems and determine resolution in a fast-paced, stressful environment
Must be self-motivated and able to accomplish objectives with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Knowledgeable of telecommunications inside plant construction practices, DC power plant, and generator systems
Must possess valid driver license and have a good driving record.

Experience: 3-5 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

FLSA overtime pay provisions: Nonexempt (hourly with overtime)

Working Conditions: Position requires availability on an on-call basis to support emergency network restoration.
