The Logistics Assistant is responsible for order fulfillment and managing/resolving logistics issues. He or she will also assist with the global activities of Fluidigm?s Technical Support team, including shipments to customers and field personnel. The successful candidate will be highly reliable, detail oriented, organized, and proactive with outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism. He or she is expected to work both independently and in conjunction with co-workers. A team player is essential as this position has a high degree of overlap with various interdisciplinary groups within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fulfill and process shipment requests in support of Fluidigm?s growing customer base
Manage inbound/outbound shipments for Fluidigm?s repair center in South San Francisco, which includes: packaging, shipping, tracking, and reconciling loaner or replacement items; generating RMA numbers and materials; receiving and documenting customer returns
Communicate closely with packaging companies and freight forwarders regarding specific shipment requirements, delivery schedules, import/export details, duties/taxes, customs issues, proof of deliveries, etc.
Verify incoming products and quantities for placement into finished goods inventory
Assist procurement activities including purchase, receipt, and delivery of departmental items
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education and Experience:
3+ years of experience in a relevant business setting within Logistics, Materials, Service, or Sales
College degree strongly preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Thorough and detail oriented, with excellent organization and documentation skills
Self-motivated, reliable, and conscientious
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
Prior logistics or shipping experience is highly desired
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs to shoulder height
