Job Description
To support our rapid growth, we are seeking talented, motivated engineers to join our office in Chicago. You must bring a passion for automation and innovative solutions. This is a great position if you seek a blend of programming as well as functional knowledge of the application. You will have the opportunity to work with a smart, talented team of developers and quality assurance engineers on the BigMachines application to build automation test suites using the latest web technologies. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can learn quickly, grow with the company, and look forward to the challenge of delighting our customers and building our business.
Please Note: Aptitude testing is required for all positions
Duties
Designing, developing, and running automation test suites using latest technologies such as WebDriver / Selenium, Java and JUnit among others to perform functional testing of the BigMachines application
Working with development team to develop automated test plans, test cases and strategies
Executing assigned automated test cases and test plans in a timely fashion
Participating in all aspects of automated testing, including functional, regression, load and security testing
Adhering to BigMachines Standard coding practices for Java, UI, Database, Performance and Scalability
Following QA team processes and standards
Adhering to all BigMachines security policies, standards and procedures in the performance of job duties
Participating in security training provided by BigMachines
Reporting any potential security weakness, exposure or suspicious indications to manager
Skills/Requirements
Strong problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Quick learner and able to learn new technologies and web programming languages on own as necessary
Ability to work constructively with developers, other QA, Project managers and Management towards a common goal
High motivation and desire to do whatever it takes to help the customer and our company succeed
A minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline, or equivalent
Experience testing web applications is desirable but not must
Experience with Java is desirable but not must
Experience with automated testing and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution is a plus
