The Test Development Engineer position is responsible for developing complete manufacturing test solutions from the product design phase to mass production. This position will drive Design-For-Test (DFT) process, define and implement innovative test strategy and solutions, and execute to Operations NPI LCM release process. Position will serve as a technical leader and focal point to own test issue closure in DDN factory, and between DDN and the contract manufacturer.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Primary interface with Design Engineering and new products teams for manufacturing testing of Hardware and Software products
Provide new product and on-going test engineering for a product or group of products with a strong demonstration of core engineering skills, design concepts & principles and diagnostic capabilities.
Develop automated test plans and cost-effective hardware test strategies and methodologies to screen manufacturing and design defects.
Manage test code development for new products and platforms, sustaining factory operations and failure analysis.
Develop scalable and automated manufacturing test equipment and processes in conjunction with Development Engineering and contract manufacturers
Develop test solutions to assist Contract Manufacturers to quickly and accurately analyze, troubleshoot and identify root cause failure analysis.
Understand the product requirements and develop test strategies and plans to meet quality, reliability and cost goals.
Engage with the cross-functional product team to influence Df(x).
Resolve product failure issues during manufacturing processes.
Oversee delivery and assembly of test equipment.
Qualifications for this role are:
BSEE/CS plus 7-10+ yrs related experience, or a MSEE/CS combined with 5-7+ years of related experience.
Experience working with Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and VMware required.
Hands-on HW experience with board, system, and product level troubleshooting.
Experience in enterprise server manufacturing industry required. Storage, SAN or NAS experience a plus.
Strong SW development skills and Hardware understanding.
Knowledge and application of industry innovations / trends and application to product or program.
