Test Engineer (Electrical) QD Vision
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Test Engineer will facilitate reliability and quality control testing efforts through the design, redesign, maintenance, and further development of custom, automated, and accelerated materials testing platforms. The Test Engineer?s responsibilities will focus on the software, electronic, and optical components of test platforms.
Design, prototype, and implement custom optical test platforms for materials testing.
Diagnose and repair electronic, software, and optical troubles of existing testing platforms at the request of operators.
Design, prototype, and execute continued improvements to test setups with a particular focus on automation hardware and software.
Interface with vendors of test platform components for the purposes of troubleshooting and further development.
Coordinate with Quality Group to manage and execute recalibration of test platform components.
Analyze data from tests to characterize testing platform and for other purposes as needed.
Document designs and design changes.
Write and establish new standard operating procedures for custom test equipment as well as review existing procedures.
Establish corrective actions at the request of Quality Group for Production affected failures.
Support operators of test platforms through training and addressing the concerns and suggestions of technicians.
Respond to customer requests for further development as needed.
Provide project management for areas of responsibility and other areas with interdependencies.
Design and execute experiments to guide direction of work.
Provide remote support for satellite locations operating testing platforms.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant field with 2+ years of industry experience required.
Experience in optical metrology (spectroscopy, radiometry, colorimetry, etc.) is required.
Working knowledge of circuits and elementary electronics is a must.
Familiarity with LEDs and LED electronics specifically is desired.
Programming skills in Labview as well as experience in interfacing with SQL databases is a must.
Candidate must be a good communicator.
Ideal candidate is detail oriented and also a broad thinker who is resourceful and inventive.
Experience with automation is desired.
