Test Engineer Cambric
The position is responsible for testing and evaluation to ensure the safety and reliability of Telehandlers & AWPs , from feasibility phase through manufacturing, for existing and new products,
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following: Others duties may be assigned.
Develop product, system, and component test procedures and coordinate implementation of the procedures for validation of performance, reliability, durability, code compliance and safety.
Tests will include:
Materials - non-destructive inspections, including magnetic particle, dye penetrant
Mechanical - machine stability, vibration, weight, braking, vehicle draw bar force
Hydraulic - pressure, flow, temperature, performance
Electrical/electronic - continuity, voltage, power consumption, circuit performance
Structural strain measurements
Sound levels - pressure and power
Automated testing using programmable monitors and controllers
Data collection using programmable loggers
Prepare and set-up machine and/or mechanism for tests listed above including programming of data acquisition and control equipment.
Supervise one or more subordinates doing various testing tasks, as applicable.
Monitor and analyze test results to determine if test goals were archived. Determine root cause of failures.
Correlate test results with field usage and revise test procedures accordingly. Work with Reliability Engineer to establish and confirm reliability goals for machines, systems, and components.
Minimize testing costs and time consistent with continual improvement in test validity.
Thorough understanding of Test Plans prepared by Engineering including the Country Standards Test Plans are written to satisfy.
Develop Project Test Plans with Project Managers and Reliability Plans with assistance from Reliability Engineer.
Provide technical input for overall reliability engineering planning.
Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, fault tree and safety analysis.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
2 to 6 years of related experience, preferably with heavy construction equipment.
Knowledge of heavy equipment structures, working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical reliability engineering and basic statistical methods.
Knowledge of automated test equipment and programmable data acquisition equipment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have ability to use test equipment such as but not limited to strain recording devices, oscilloscopes, weighing devices, volt/ohmmeter accelerometers, transducers and hydraulic test devices such as flow meter and pressure gauges, in addition to computer type test equipment such as Edaq, B&K Pulse system. Vector CANalyzer, PLCs, shunts, automated electronic test set-up (electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, structural), instrumentation.
