Threat Research Development Engineer
Solera Networks is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Threat Research Development Engineer. This position will report to the Director of Threat Research. The primary job function of the Threat Research Development Engineer will be to build tools, as needed or required, for the purposes of conducting short and long-term internet security research, and to craft automation for a variety of Threat Research projects.
Required Skills:
Candidates must be expert users of the Linux operating environment, both in the CLI and GNOME/KDE
Candidates must be expert programmers in the Python scripting language, and have high confidence working with and customizing Perl, Ruby, and PHP
Candidates should be familiar with Windows executable code formats, runtime packers/unpackers, and Windows internals
Candidates should have working knowledge of tools used to perform static and dynamic malware analysis, including open source sandboxing tools, server honeypots, and client honeypots
We would prefer candidates to have experience with more than just Windows platform executable formats (such as iOS, Android, and/or Mac)
Candidates should have experience with the implementation of PostgreSQL databases, SQL query language, and database-driven Web front-ends
We would prefer candidates with experience using various debugger and disassembler tools, such as OllyDbg, Immunity Debugger, and/or IDA Pro for analysis and/or reverse engineering
Interested candidates will be required to demonstrate technical competency in the core skills required for the job function as part of the interview process
