Responsibilities:
Proactively monitor site health plus analyze and resolve site issues as reported by monitoring systems and consoles, providing Tier 1 (first level) response to alarms.
Adherence to standard operating procedures and escalation procedures as required to resolve site issues.
Work in a 24x7x365 production environment hosting various web platforms using the provided server, network and application monitoring systems.
Provide Tier 1 (first level) support for production issues, gathering troubleshooting information either for direct resolution or for an escalation destination party.?
Escalation ownership ? production issues are escalated and driven to resolution via troubleshooting, communication, and subsequent updates.? Issues are owned from start to finish and tracked in a site issue ticketing system.?
Flexible with the ability to handle stressful situations ? such as initiating emergency conference calls and sending quick and accurate system issue notifications.?
Use of standardized communications for follow up to scheduled maintenance and service interruptions.?
Appropriately communicate issues using defined communication channels.
Qualifications/requirements:
2+? years of previous Tier 1 Site Support or equivalent experience
Must be comfortable working in a command line as well as GUI environment
2+? years of direct Linux experience (running scripts, grep-ing logs, troubleshooting errors)
2+? years of direct Windows experience (running scripts, processing Event Log messages, troubleshooting errors)
Ability to remain calm in the midst of chaos and be the first response central communication point for site issues.
Possess a professional demeanor with a customer satisfaction attitude and be an active contributor in a positive team environment.
Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills along with good analytical skills ? must be able to accurately report information in a timely manner.?
Demonstrated ability to follow predefined guidelines, protocols, and procedures as directed.
Able to work 3-4 12 hour site supports shift per week for an average of 42 hours per week. Regular schedule will be either day or night shifts.
Candidate must possess the ability to learn, retain, and apply new information in an ever changing environment with flexibility to perform additional tasks or duties outside of normal daily activities.
Experience with Gomez, Keynote or Nagios is a plus.
