The TimeTrade Systems Administrator is a member of a team that is responsible for all aspects of administration and support of the TimeTrade Cloud environment. The TimeTrade Cloud environment is comprised of over 200 + servers and includes support for servers running Microsoft Windows 2008, RedHat and other critical systems. As TimeTrade has many high profile retail and banking industry clients these environments must be available 24x7x365.
With guidance and support from fellow Network Operations staff
Supports Windows 2008 serves, running IIS, Apache, WebSphere and Glassfish as hosted in a private VMware environment.
Performs administration tasks as needed to VMWare hosted servers
Installation and configuration of application servers
Performs security updates
Server and Application level performance monitoring and alerting
Server level trouble-shooting of Proprietary TimeTrade Application
Provides and maintains written and graphical server documentation for system recovery and support
Uses best practices to secure server configurations
Continual evaluation of processes and technology's used by TimeTrade and suggest area's for improvement
Act as an off-hours contact (3 week rotation)
Some internal end user support
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Minimum six plus (6+) years' experience working with and proven ability to manage Microsoft Windows network servers and applications. Demonstrable high attention to detail, follow through and ability to follow complex instructions. In depth understanding of: TCP/IP, SMTP, Clustering Technologies, DNS, System Backups and Recovery, network architecture, evaluation, installation, and support.
The ideal candidate will have a certification in one (or more) of the following: MSCE, RedHat, CCNA Desired Experience: The Ideal candidate will have experience working with one (or more) of the following technologies: RedHat OS WebSphere Glassfish Zend Custer Manager ManageEngine Suite monitoring tools Power Admin Suite monitoring tools SQL Queries SQL Performance Tuning Cassandra Database Experience working in a SOC environment Supporting Apple OS and Microsoft desktop Education: Minimum of a four-year college degree or 6 years equivalent work experience.
