JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
The TMS Client Support Analyst will support the TMS Client Support Manager?s efforts to focus on New Breed?s growing transportation management offering. The chosen candidate will provide customer support management for internal users and external clients according to customer management processes. Candidates may also serve in a project management role for system implementations and upgrades. Will have the opportunity to develop detailed functional specifications for system modifications and perform integrated quality assurance testing.
Position requires a minimum of 5 (five) years information technology experience with a preference toward a demonstrated career growth pattern in areas such as project management, consulting, customer relations and implementation of logistics systems; BA/BS required (advanced degree preferred).
Requirements
Hands-on experience in the full cycle of TMS implementations. Experience in geographies outside the USA (includes design, build, testing and maintenance of all TMS data) will be a plus.
Full capability to engage with all TMS functionality Super-user role using one or more of the following systems: JDA (i2 TM/TP), Oracle OTM, Manhattan, Descartes, MercuryGate or TMW.
Ability to translate the various functionality components in TMS into workable solutions to meet/exceed internal and external customer requirements.
Understanding of the integration points (upstream and downstream) of TMS (the details of how data integrates in and out of system).
Skilled in data manipulation using various available tools (MS Excel, Access, Word, as well as various text type file manipulation software) to build data as required for integration to TMS.
Skilled use of various project and presentation documentation (MS Project, Visio, Word, Power Point, etc) in support of TMS project management functions.
Understanding of the TMS API structure (data requirements) for static and transactional data integration during the TMS implementation/maintenance process.
Full understanding of build, trouble shoot, and manipulation processes of XML files required for the TMS implementation/maintenance process.
Develop TMS technical functionality knowledge for potential future use (ex. Custom Distance Engine build).
Ability to leverage data base query software (Toad) to access data in TMS database.
Ability to leverage, update and maintain data loader (MS Access DB) for data integration to TMS.
Leverage various mapping software (MS MapPoint, PCMiler, etc) from both a graphical display perspective and a data source perspective (ex integrate MS Excel and MS Access with PCMiler).
Tasks
Participate in full cycle TMS implementations; from defining requirements through post go-live support.
Builds the required TMS components per customer requirements. (ex. Locations, carriers, tariffs, etc).
Develop and runs TMS functionality test scripts given customer specific set-up and transactional data.
Complete and maintain TMS implementation documentation and system updates as required per assigned project.
Ensure operator/user ad-hoc issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Ensures TMS knowledge is imparted to system users as defined by individual TMS implementation project requirements.
Maintain/update the TMS environment given changing customer requirements.
Liaise with internal and external customers as required in order to meet requirements per various project plans.
Support Business Development efforts as requested.
Support efforts to analyze resource/process/cost savings through re-engineering and process improvements in existing operations
Prepare business cases for internal and external approvals
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in areas of process, productivity and system capability that result in cost/process efficiencies.
Investigate automation and technology applications to improve service/process resulting in cost efficiencies.
Completes all other tasks as assigned.
Special Skills/Education/Experience
Thorough knowledge and experience with current top tier TMS software applications. Thorough, demonstrable, competence with commercially available distance engines, large data manipulation and software (Access, Excel) to facilitate those tasks. Education and/or experience with project management is a plus.
