About the Job
We are currently seeking a proactive Trade Ally Representative to support Nexant?s work in the Chandler, AZ area. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and conducting trade ally outreach activities for utility sponsored energy efficiency programs. The position will report to a sales manager and be engaged in helping contractors stock and install high efficiency equipment in facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the organization?s technical outreach functions to promote energy efficiency through the creation and management of formal and informal trade alliance networks
Identify potential energy savings strategies and projects, make effective sales presentations, and respond to questions and inquiries from industry professionals in an accurate, proficient and timely manner.
Identify and focus on market segments capable of generating the largest energy savings with the most cost effective approach.
Develop and maintain individual and team strategies for reaching sales, program targets and other business related objectives.
Promptly follow up on leads and referrals and document responses.
Establish and maintain at all times professional client rapport, including identifying and anticipating client needs and proposing solutions.
Maintain accurate, up to date and active project pipeline to assure goals and objectives are consistently met.
Promptly and accurately addresses client concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships. Seek team member input at every stage.
Understand end-use utility customer organization and decision-making process and work with trade contractors to identify and determine the project applicability, eligibility, schedule, qualifying equipment and/or energy efficiency measures, potential energy savings, and available incentives.
Consistently meet or exceed assigned objectives related to sales, marketing, inspections, communication, client satisfaction and other key performance indicators.
Conduct training and educational outreach efforts with trade allies who sell, design, install, and market energy efficient technologies
Communicate with trade allies and customers regarding program requirements
Develop tools to illustrate energy project economics to customers and trade allies
Performing outreach and coordination for energy efficiency programs and information to lighting, facility management and/or mechanical industry
Perform due diligence engineering review for program applicants and coordinating on-site inspection activities including organizing, scheduling and conduct equipment and weatherization related inspections in homes and businesses
Calculate and review customer incentive payments
Supporting the sales and installation of advanced design and high-efficiency lighting, weatherization and mechanical systems in C&I and residential customer facilities.
Maintaining formal networks in energy, utility, lighting, facility management and mechanical industries to support company initiatives
Reviewing proposed lighting, weatherization and mechanical upgrades/designs for appropriateness and eligibility for utility energy efficiency programs. Conducting site visits to verify installation, commissioning and operation of energy efficiency measures, applications, systems and equipment.
Working in close coordination and concert with fellow local, regional and national company outreach representatives and managers to meet company and project goals.
Qualifications
A business management, marketing, engineering or closely related degree with at least three years? experience in an energy related industry
Candidates without direct related education may substitute direct experience for consideration
3+ or more years? experience in lighting, mechancial, controls utilities energy efficiency and/or other building system trades-related experience; and/or
2+ years? experience working in professional sales, energy rating, account management, marketing, business management or project management
Excellent ability to develop and present rational value-added business cases for energy industry manufacturers, distributors, retailers and/or contractors based on real-time market dynamics
Proven technical sales, marketing and communications experience
Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple time-dependent tasks simultaneously
Excellent oral communication, writing, interpersonal, sales, marketing and analytical skills
Experience and aptitude with working in team environment, as well as independently without direct supervision
Planning, organization and self-management in a professional environment a must
Ability to communicate, council, and sell concepts at all levels of an organization.
C.E.M. or LEED AP certification (or on track to receive) is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required
Ability and comfort using small tools, ladders and power equipment
Use personal vehicle to visit customer sites, including carrying tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and follow-through in a fast pace environment.
