Product Trainer - Customer Education
Summary of Responsibilities: The instructor?s primary area of focus is the delivery of onsite and offsite/classroom training to Encompass software clients. In this position the instructor will educate and train students through lecture and hands-on activities to enable the user to be proficient and comfortable using Encompass software to conduct their business.
The instructor must have extensive knowledge of training delivery practices, both in face-to-face and virtual environments. Additionally, the instructor must have extensive knowledge in the Mortgage Banking industry preferable in operations. The instructor will monitor class evaluations to assure customer satisfaction and as the subject matter expert, will take appropriate action with Course Development to enhance content accordingly.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives
Present software application content in both face-to-face and virtual delivery environments
Research emerging training techniques and tools and develop recommendations for how to adopt/implement
Work with curriculum developer, as the subject matter expert, in the creation and maintenance of assigned courses
Participate and/or project lead infrastructure development efforts for both classroom and virtual training deliveries. Maintain infrastructure/environment.
Analyze course evaluations to judge effectiveness and provide feedback to Course Development
Meet instructional learning objectives through delivery of courses
Maintain effective business relationships and open communication with Sales, Product Management and Customers to ensure that training courses are meeting business needs, both for the customer and Ellie Mae
Establish and maintain classroom training policies/procedures
Interface with internal support organizations and engage appropriate resources for any customer issues that may be identified during training
Manage the logistics associated with onsite delivery, including communication with the customer regarding the training venue and with the Ellie Mae Implementation team to ensure a smooth hand-off
Qualifications, Skills and Education
Bachelors Degree and/or relevant business experience in a customer training environment
5+ years experience in the delivery of software training, preferably related to the Mortgage Banking Industry
High proficiency in application of complex training skills, principles, methods and models
Proven presentation and facilitation experience in classroom, virtual and online delivery environments
Ability to learn technical content and deliver it to learners of varying education, technical and experience levels
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly establish rapport with students and colleagues
Effective communicator both written and oral
Mortgage banking, preferably in operations experience is a must. Post-closing experience highly preferred
Travel within the US, up to 25-50% of the time depending on demand
