TRAINING MANAGER New Breed Logistics

Summary of Functions:
The selected candidate works with various New Breed site General Managers, their senior staff and area Executives to provide a comprehensive training service to all New Breed facilities in the greater Memphis area. The programs would include but are not limited to quality control, work measurement, human resources, warehouse and fulfillment operations, supervisory development and materials requirements planning. She/he will be responsible for planning, organizing and leading the training department and the overall training capability of New Breed in the Memphis area.
Develops, writes and coordinates training modules working with specialists for specific details (Q.A., Powered Industrial Truck Operations, Pick, Pack and Ship Processes, Safety, Loss Prevention, People Management, Warehouse Manager Systems, etc.) The training modules include: course content, visual charts, video, slides, etc, as well as methods for assessing trainee understanding of the subject matter or readiness to perform specific tasks.
Oversees the development of training videos and/or films and maintains library of video and film training aids. Schedules training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility setup, audiovisual setup and employee notification.
Develops a means of measuring the effectiveness of divisional training programs through testing, etc. Continuously monitors and improves overall training process health and efficacy.
Identify core competencies required of workforce and any skill gaps. Together with site GMs, develops and executes plans to close those gaps.
Keep training materials up to date using Dept. resources to produce training materials and manuals
Design and develop training and development programs based on both the organization?s and the individual?s needs, amends and revise programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes in the work environment
Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and interacting with employees
Identify and implement career development for each Training Department employee
Check competency of each employee per requirements
Develop testing and evaluation procedures
Ability to communicate by telephone, e-mail, fax, and written correspondence, and in person, with applicable company personnel, suppliers and customers
Ability to travel throughout the greater Memphis area. Occasional overnight travel.
Ability to work extended hours to achieve business / project objectives
Ability to respond to on-call issues outside of scheduled work hours
Motor skills to traverse office areas, shop floors, and warehouses ability to bend, stoop, and twist as needed
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to operate a computer for long periods of time
Capable of walking substantial distances in large facilities for extended periods of time
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
College degree preferred or equivalent work related experienced
3+ years of management experience
Minimum two (2) years prior training, teaching, or related field
Creative ability, writing proficiency, visual graphics design ability
Strong Interpersonal communicator with good presentation skills.
