We are seeking a Transportation Maintenance Coordinator. Under moderate supervision, responsible for the pick up and delivery of mobile imaging equipment. The transportation of equipment may involve moving one or more units through a pre-set delivery route or may involve third party equipment moves on long-haul, short-haul or one-way moves. Route may cover a broad geographic area or may be local in nature.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Maintain current logs and fuel/mileage reports and submit in timely manner.
Document daily vehicle inspections and perform and document monthly maintenance on vehicle. Submit reports in timely manner.
Ensure unit contains current registrations, permits and insurance documents at all times. Assist in obtaining documentation from state and local agencies as requested.
Transport equipment to appropriate destinations in safe manner within pre-determined schedule.
Set up and take down unit according to van manufacturer?s and company guidelines.
Ensure preventive maintenance and general maintenance is performed according to government regulations and within company guidelines using most cost-effective manner.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of transportation equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of transportation equipment to include weekly or bi-weekly exterior washing.
Contact customers and third parties to confirm availability for deliveries and pick up.
Complete expense reports and time reports in timely manner and submit to appropriate supervision for approvals.
Ensure tractors and trailers are DOT compliant at all times.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Clean driving record.
Commercial driver?s license.
Desirable:
Five years of commercial driver experience.
Knowledge:
Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
Highway safety laws and regulations and safe driving practice.
Skills/Abilities:
Act quickly, calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Understand and follow instructions.
Good verbal communication skills.
Maintenance of transportation equipment.
Ability to pass DOT drug, alcohol and physical screens.
Special Requirements/Certification:
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to drag/pull 150 pound power cord.
Frequent bending/stooping/lifting.
Prolonged periods of sitting.
May require extended stays away from home.
May be required to be on-call.
