Overview:EverydayHealth.com is seeking an aggressive journalist to cover daily health, medicine and condition stories. This individual should have a passion for informing consumers about the developments and trends that affect their health, and a willingness to do what it takes to report quickly and accurately in today?s ?on-time?, multi-platform media environment. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as well as fearlessness in finding sources on tight deadlines to explain breaking health news. Experience with digital storytelling and knowledge of health topics is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Report and produce content on health and conditions events, studies and trends of interest to daily EverydayHealth.com audiences.
Assemble and curate feeds of staff, freelance, user, and externally produced content of interest to EverydayHealth.com audiences.
Write and produce promotional blurbs, captions, and headlines for sites, newsletters, feeds and Social accounts
Contribute coverage, UX, and display ideas for our sites, newsletters, feeds and Social network programming.
Qualifications:
Strong news judgment and reporting skills, as well as ability to write for daily online deadlines.
Proficient at using a variety of online and human sources to produce daily health coverage.
Able to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced, creative environment that requires meticulous attention to detail.
Passionate about health, medicine, and Conditions, and excited by breaking news.
College degree, preferably with English or journalism concentration or equivalent experience
Basic understanding of online and Social media.
