The Turbomachinery Design Engineer is responsible for aerodynamic and mechanical design of turbines, compressors and pumps in the context of closed-loop thermodynamic power cycles. In this role, the TDE will help define the optimal sizing and control strategies for these devices, coordinate internal and external resources to complete preliminary and detailed designs, and oversee the prototype manufacturing, implementation, testing and operation of these devices.

What we view as important in your background that would prepare you for this position:
5-7 years of experience working in a similar or comparable role;
5 or more years of experience in the turbomachinery industry and/or demonstrable experience in turbo machinery design:
B.S or higher;
Experience developing and commercializing products employing high speed turbo-machinery (>20,000 rpm);
Familiarity with a wide range of seals and bearings, including developing and commercializing products using some or all of the following ? magnetic bearings, hydrostatic bearings, air foil bearings, dry gas seals, and brush seals;
Familiarity with permanent magnet alternators (preferable); and,
Demonstrable presentation skills.
