UI Architect
If you have a passion for information architecture and user experience, we offer the opportunity to work in a collaborative Customer Experience team designing and maintaining a large e-commerce sales and self-service online product website used by millions of customers.
Must be able to work in multi-disciplinary groups including technical, business and customer experience perspectives. This position will work closely with business owners, our Creative team and outside agencies.
Responsibilities:
Translate business goals, user needs, design direction, and operational requirements into effective user experiences.
Design user interface, interaction flow, and UI architecture of customer-facing e-commerce sites and applications.
Collaborate with product, marketing, technology, and design teams to ensure superior user experience, usability and maximize conversion.
Identify opportunities to improve conversions and other business and financial metrics.
Articulate user experience issues and advocate for/incorporate usability findings, customer input, site analytics data, and other research to a user-centered design process.
Create user scenarios, wireframes, task flows, mockups, and iterate quickly through design cycles. Develop/Support/Maintain consistency and quality UI style guides and specifications.
Communicate design feedback, project status, timelines, conceptual ideas and design rationale to management, design partners and project teams.
Perform competitive design research and identify media, technology and design innovations and opportunities.
Potentially re-architect website to accommodate an expanding portfolio of products.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in UI Architecture for high-traffic websites
5 ? 7 years of professional experience in human factors, user interaction and usability environments, and information architecture
Extensive experience with front-end, e-commerce, customer facing UI
In-depth knowledge of user-centered design processes, techniques and tools.
Proficiency with appropriate design and prototyping tools, including Visio and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, Flex, etc.)
Experience driving the design review cycle with project stakeholders. Able to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience balancing multiple projects concurrently
Degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centered Design, or related field
Some exposure to A/B testing
Work samples or an online portfolio required for application
