UI Designer Laszlo Systems

Laszlo Systems is looking for a talented and highly skilled individual in all aspects of application design, but especially in visual design. Experience in traditional graphic design, visual design, user experience, interaction design and user interface are all components of this position. Candidate will work closely with a world-class team of designers and engineers to create next generation Web applications. The ideal candidate will have a general drive to advance user experience.

A great plus would be experience with animated interfaces and an understanding of the exciting opportunities and challenges of designing for Rich Internet Applications.

Responsibilities

User interface design - visually and functionally innovative design solutions
Prototyping of screen development with an emphasis on visual layouts, animation, typography, and user interface elements
Engage collaboratively and flexibly with designers and engineers

Desired Skills and Requirements

Highly creative with good conceptual skills, an original design sensibility and solid typographic and visual design skills
Identify and translate business requirements and user needs into innovative solutions that are highly useful and functional
Solve complex design problems and create simple, elegant interfaces
Creativity to go beyond (or against) existing standards and norms
Graphic Design or UI degree or equivalent experience
At least 2-5 years industry experience in application and / or web design (software UI experience a plus)
Strong, organized and efficient verbal, written, and visual presentation skills as well as en eye for detail
Skillful with interactive media prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, OmniGraffle, etc.)
Highly motivated, independent and responsible
Able to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Must have a comprehensive portfolio including examples of visual UI design.
