Job Description
To support our rapid growth, we are seeking talented, motivated UI/UX designers to join our office in Chicago. You must bring a passion for design and developing innovative solutions. As an experienced designer, you will have the opportunity to work with a powerful web application using some of the latest technologies with a brilliant, talented bunch of designers and developers solving complex problems.
The UI/UX Web Designer works to build prototype user interface designs for usability testing, client review and sales demonstrations, as well as serve as a knowledge resource for the latest trends and technologies for web-based user interface development. You will work to actively assist in improving the usability, usefulness, and desirability of the BigMachines application in collaboration with BigMachines Product Managers, Development teams, Professional Services and Sales Consultants.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can learn quickly, grow with the company, and look forward to the challenge of delighting our customers and building our business.
Please Note: Aptitude testing is required for all positions
Duties
Designing and developing new product features and collaborate with server-side and other UI developers to build components using HTML/CSS/jQuery/AJAX and Javascript
Producing high quality code while adhering to BigMachines Standard coding practices for UI, Security, Performance and Scalability
Helping management establish and follow UI best practices
Producing high quality UI code that follows web standards, perform code reviews and mentor/lead team of junior UI engineers
Staying current on new technologies/technology changes that affect front-end web development
Adhering to all BigMachines security policies, standards and procedures in the performance of job duties
Participating in security training provided by BigMachines
Reporting any potential security weakness, exposure or suspicious indications to manager
Skills/Requirements
High level of understanding of XHTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Javascript
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with expertise in UI technologies
Ability to learn quickly and independently, strong team player
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work constructively with developers, QA, project managers and management towards a common goal
Familiarity with UI Best Practices
Additional Desired Knowledge
