UI/UX Engineer Deepfield Networks
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We've developed the groundbreaking DeepField Cloud Genome technology, a big data platform to power it, and a slick UI to show it off. Now that we have one of the coolest real-time datasets around, we're looking to expand the team responsible for building the advanced UI that our customers rely on for their business intelligence. This team has a huge impact on how the data we mine is analyzed and interpreted. Sound exciting? Read on.
It isn't enough that our products be useful, reliable, and scalable ? they also need to be intuitive, engaging, and beautiful. That's where you come in: You'll work on a small team to help define and, most importantly, build an epic front-end that allows the user to navigate, analyze, and explore the data in ways that anticipate the questions they need answered.
Expertise with the contemporary iterations of HTML/CSS/JS and their attendant tools/libs is required. Familiarity with bleeding-edge web technologies would be great. While much of your time will be spent working on the UI, the probability is close to one that this role will involve working on things that are different, so some skill with Python, distributed computing, and service design are all big pluses. This position has lots of freedom to work on a wide array of DeepField products and services, and will likely evolve into a leadership role in the future.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced front-end designer/developer with a hacker mentality; someone who thrives in a very fluid environment. This isn't a "connect-the-dots" dev position ? our engineers must be able to take loosely defined, complex ideas and run with them, working toward that elegant result.
Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in web design and development
Comfortable working at scale (massive datasets to be presented)
Iterative style: Come up with new ideas, present them, build them, validate them, improve them, then do it again
A creative streak: Not afraid to sketch out an idea or open up Photoshop/Illustrator
Comfortable working with Git, Linux, virtual machines, and all that sort of good stuff
Why you will want to work here
Well-funded startup with competitive salary, benefits, and stock options
Apply state-of-the-art technologies to solve interesting and challenging problems
Easygoing team of rockstars and ninjas who love what they do
Awesome workplace ? our offices are located right in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor's growing tech corridor, and we have lots of fun excursions to take advantage of our location
