Job Description
This position's hours are from 12AM-8AM
Responsibilities
General systems administration of both local and remote systems in a large infrastructure
Configure and manage performance monitoring tools and notification/alerting services
Configure and tune high availability Linux systems
Contribute to internal documentation for operations team
Respond to and repair system outages and emergencies
Participate in product deployments, upgrades, and maintenance
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for identifying and resolving outages
Participate in occasional after-hours emergency and scheduled maintenance
Qualifications
Required Skills
Intermediate to advanced Linux command line experience (grep, awk, sed, etc.)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet Networking (tcpdump, wireshark, etc.)
Intermediate to advanced shell scripting ability (bash, perl, php, etc.)
Willingness to learn
Strong documentation skills
Strong team player
Attention to detail is a must
Capable of working in a disciplined manner in a relaxed atmosphere
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Minimuim 5 years job experience
Preferred Experience
MySQL administration
Apache administration
Xen hypervisor administration
Monitoring and automation tools (puppet, nagios, cacti, etc.)
Intermediate HAProxy configuration
