UNIX/Linux Quality Assurance Manager Vormetric
Vormetric is looking for a QA manager that will own end-to-end software quality, including design and implementation of test frameworks, automated test creation and execution, tool for testing in QA and production environments, gathering a variety of data to support quality metrics, and other quality related programs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing team in a dynamic environment, someone who can wear multiple hats and be strategic and tactical. This role is definitely not just a test manager role, but involves a completely new level of ownership of quality.
Job Requirements
BS and or MS/PhD or equivalent technical experience in Computer Science or other engineering discipline is a requirement
10+ years of engineering management experience in either testing or development. We prefer individuals who have had experience in working with development, support, and remote teams
You must be a self-starter, highly organized, thorough, resourceful, technical, and an effective communicator
In-depth system knowledge of Linux and UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HPUX) is a must
Previous hands-on experience in system software testing or development is also a requirement
Prefer candidate that is familiar with Oracle, DB2, IDS or Big Data in a SAN/NAS environment
Security testing experience in enterprise key management, PKI, & encryption is a plus
Job Duties
Contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change
Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures
Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories
Investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods
Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations
Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by recruiting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
