The Role
As the Security Administrator you are responsible for the day-to-day Security system management of a of a large scale Web Hosting provider Infrastructure. This infrastructure is used 24x7 to provide web hosting, email and other related services to our customer. You will stay on top of recent security and system administration developments. As Security Administrator you need to interact on a daily basis with other departments like development and the support team. A strong understanding of incident handling in a network or security operation center (NOC/SOC) is desired.
Skills
At least 8 years of Unix administration experience, including the security aspects of these operating systems
Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing)
Working experience of IDS and IPS systems
Experience with security practices of Intranet and extranet
Deep knowledge of Server level security and best practices
Ability to incorporate appropriate Security monitoring systems and alerts to monitor, detect and manage security vulnerabilities in large scale systems deployment.
Expert with scripting (Unix shell scripts; Perl, python, etc.)
Strong Knowledge of SSH, NFS, DNS, LDAP and other commonly used protocols in system administration
Ability to work off hours as well as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation
