US Vice President/Director of Professional Services Liaison Technologies

The Professional Services lead will join a dynamic and growing Professional Services team at Liaison. With P&L responsibility, as well as direct staff oversight, this position is responsible for serving as principal consultant and executive sponsor of the various professional services engagements at Liaison as well as leading sales efforts for project-based work. The role is an integral part of the company?s efforts to deliver strategic guidance, advisory, and implementation services in the fields of integration and data management to our Global 1000 customer base in wide-ranging industries including healthcare, insurance, banking, technology, government, distribution, manufacturing, and retail.
Candidate will be expected to transform the organization from a project execution services organization to a relationship selling and consulting business model. In addition to their lead role within the Professional Services organization, the candidate will be expected to function as an executive principle consultant on select strategic projects as necessary. The VP or Director of Professional Services is a candidate to be a member of a small senior leadership group.
This individual will be responsible for aggressively growing the Professional services practice, as well as meeting other business objectives of the company related to margin, utilization, and staffing. Significant emphasis on selling professional services 50% - 75% of the time will be spent in front of customers in a sales or sales support capacity. As coordinator and staffing manager for project-based work, the resource will directly staff projects with individuals with qualified skill sets, as well as working with other resource managers throughout the company to align subject-matter experts with customer opportunities.
Additionally, this individual will foster a dynamic, energetic team environment, where maintaining focus on customers? unique issues and developing innovative, cost-effective solutions to those problems is a top priority. In this role, the individual will be responsible for staff recruitment and selection, in order to balance company objectives of growth with the needs of a balanced and strongly committed consulting team. In addition, the individual will coordinate and manage the activities of various contracting relationships, including from time-to-time processes associated with use of off-shore development resources in client engagements.
As P&L manager, this individual will work in close coordination with finance on revenue performance, operational reporting and metrics, budgeting, and by providing inputs to periodic reporting and invoicing processes.
The individual should have experience serving in a selling role, developing and proposing innovative and complex service-based solutions for customers. A large portion of the responsibility for this position is in providing direct and indirect support to the sales and marketing teams to clearly articulate the service and solution offerings of the company.
Typical projects include:
Implementation strategy and planning for enterprise IT data projects, including EAI, ESB, SOA, BPM, B2B, Master Data Management, Data Security and systems consolidation
Assessment of data integration environment, including catalog management tools, EAI, translators, etc. ? Security and PCI Program assessment and compliance strategy
Master Data Management (MDM) strategy; data synchronization strategy; content management strategy, including technology selection
E-Business strategy, including trading partner management processes
ROI analysis
Requirements analysis
Organizational analysis, evaluation against best practices
Candidates should have at least 10 years experience in professional services implementation or advisory consulting, preferably with technology solution providers or mid-market or large consulting organizations. Work history must include demonstrated progressive experience culminating in leadership and supervisory roles in this discipline. Candidates must have a proven track record of creating lasting relationships with customers and have clearly and continually demonstrated ability to personally influence the outcome of projects and sales initiative in a direct, positive manner.
As a technology solutions provider, candidates must have demonstrated recognized leadership in one or more technology domains linked to or complimentary with Liaison?s offerings. Candidates should have impeccable communication skills and experience consulting to and on behalf of mid-level and senior company executives and business stakeholders at client organizations.
COMPENSATION: Liaison offers a competitive overall compensation package for this leadership position. Title and compensation are commensurate with the professional experience of the candidate selected to fill the position.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL: Candidates should be willing to travel up to 50%. Travel requirements can be quite variable. Position is based out of Liaison?s headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
Required Skills
10+ years experience in leading technology initiatives and or consulting projects
Experience selling professional services and growing client based engagements
Experience personally and directly contributing to sales initiatives through solution and proposal development, direct selling, and relationship development
Experience leading a team of at least 20 consultant resources and managing P&L responsibility
Experience interviewing, presenting to, and interacting with senior business stakeholders ? director, VP, and higher
Ability to lead and staff projects as required
Ability to make significant contributions toward professional services processes and methodologies that form the ?standard operating procedure? for services engagements
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of IT best practices, particularly pertaining to integration, data security, master data management, and/or technical infrastructure
Strong analytical knowledge and ability to formulate an analysis of alternatives
Experience with ROI and other analysis techniques, including EVA
Experience with proposal development, implementation planning, and project scoping
Experience writing job descriptions, interviewing, selecting candidates for employment and contracting positions
Experience in staff management, including performance evaluation, training, and development
In all interactions, projecting a polished and professional image of extreme credibility
Education Requirement
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or information system management
Advanced degree, such as MBA or Masters Degree in other related fields
