Canvas (www.gocanvas.com), a fast-growing start-up located in Reston VA, is looking for an extremely talented User Experience and User Interface expert to join the Canvas team in a leadership role. As one of the first members of an established but small team, the ability to drive vision and play multiple roles on an exciting product is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work within an extremely fast paced, exciting internet startup, with the ability to help drive features, innovation and product vision
Work within a small team environment to build an elegant and beautiful product that drives passion in our customers
Great communication skills necessary to work with customers and business members to build product requirements and product vision
Enjoys participating in all aspects of product life-cycle, from gathering requirements, building and prototyping interfaces to working with developers
Excels in a self-managed environment, utilizing the latest technologies and best practices to build amazing interfaces and exceptional user experience
Willing to push the boundaries of established UI and UX on mobile devices
Desired Skills
Exceptional work creating user experiences for beginner-level users of mobile apps
Ability to build interfaces and prototypes using prototyping tools
Ability to design logos and images using Photoshop or other tools
Ability to build modern interfaces using HTML and CSS
Understanding of user interface best practices from a mobile device perspective
User testing methodologies (eye tracking, heat map tracking, gorilla testing)
Bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, fine art, information architecture, industrial design, product design, visual communications or human-computer interactions
4+ years working on user experience projects within the Internet/mobile industry
Experience translating complex product features into user friendly interfaces and experiences
Ability to translate marketing requirements into product features
Benefits and Employment
This is a full time position based out of Reston VA which will require in-person office time five days of the week. Salary and stock options will be based upon level of experience and will be very competitive, with healthcare plans offered as well. Unfortunately we cannot offer H-1B sponsorship.
