Spiceworks is looking for a UX designer that?s as fanatical about compelling design as they are about seamless interaction. Equal parts artist and tactician, this individual will approach every new design challenge like both a chess board and a blank canvas ? carefully weighing every move a user might make while designing an experience that?s as aesthetically compelling as it is sublimely simplistic. We?re looking for someone who appreciates the details in light of a broader vision, scrutinizing each pixel of the big picture. The ideal candidate will slip comfortably into the shoes of the end user, constantly asking themselves questions like ?How did I get to this page??, ?Where do my eyes go??, and ?Is there any way to make this interaction even more seamless??
Responsibilities: What will I do?
? Mockup and present UX flows
? Review and re-envision existing user interactions
? Work with developers on implementation of new interactions
? Talk with users about interactions and overall experience
? Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?
? High level of skill and comfort with design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
? Ability to translate business and communications objectives into visual mediums
? Instinctive sense of aesthetics and design
? Comfort in designing for multiple platforms (web design, application design, etc.)
? Ability to consider technological limitations in design
? Agility. You can think on your feet and adapt well to a quickly changing environment
? Excellent communication skills across a wide spectrum of personalities
? Keen ability to consider and incorporate feedback
? Experience in IT a big plus
? Experience in HTML a big plus
