There are more than 3 trillion pictures online. With a camera in every cell phone and the rise of social networks, consumers upload another 300 million photos each day. But what can an image do once you take, upload & share it with friends? Turns out it can do a lot.
The team at Luminate is changing the way people interact with online images. We are a robust start-up that is pushing the next wave of what we are calling the ?Imagesphere?. At Luminate, our vision is to help people interact with images. Our passions include apps, photography, music, and old-school arcade games.
To help us bring our vision to life, we are looking for a passionate user experience designer who loves designing cutting edge web-based applications. You will be on a team responsible for creating the next generation of web interactivity, from inspiration to implementation. The job tasks include brainstorming and mocking up design ideas from wireframes to prototypes to full visual design (interaction flow, creating icons and graphics), and communicating and coordinating with the developers. General skills needed
Technical skill - Proficient with design software such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and an aptitude for learning new technology. Functional knowledge of CSS and HTML.
Communication ability - The ability to present ideas and to demonstrate their designs effectively--written, verbally, and visually.
Design validation - Experience designing/conducting usability tests, performing heuristic reviews, etc.
Problem solving ability - Strong problem solving skills and loves a good challenge.
Artistic sensibility - Knowledge of design elements such as color and composition, and detail-oriented.
Requirements
Minimum of five years experience as a user experience designer.
Fluent in current graphic design practices and production software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong conceptual skills, including online software concepts and online experience concepts.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
