Job Description:
We are looking for an energetic User Experience Designer with an excellent eye for design to generate innovative, elegant, usable software interface designs for our Enterprise and Desktop products. This position is geared toward designers versus developers. You will be expected to complete all steps in the design process from user research, conceptualization, and functional specifications to pass to the developer for final implementation and usability review. You must possess the ability to drive a project as well as the desire to learn this industry and new tools.
Responsibilities:
Work with our UX Design Lead to ensure consistent and intuitive user experience within our products? web-based and desktop interfaces.
Conduct research to uncover current GUI practices and user needs to create value-added design.
Develop user flow charts, wireframes, realistic mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate and validate designs.
Work with developers on the user-facing implementation throughout the product release cycle.
Required Skills:
First and foremost, you should recognize great web and software UX/UI when you see it, and be able to explain your view.
We?re looking for self-starters ? candidates who can jump in, set their own goals, and learn by asking the right questions.
You?ll need to have excellent critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills to distill and organize large amounts of complex information into simple, usable designs.
Adobe Photoshop skills a must. Icon making skills a plus.
You should have a working knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript and Windows GUI standards.
Microsoft Expression Blend skills a plus.
3-5 years industry experience with software user experience design.
BA/BS degree in Visual Communications, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Finally, you should have a portfolio of related work that showcases your work and thinking process.
