Make computers understand every aspect of food and turn that into useful consumer products
Discovering every recipe on the web and understanding the recipe in it?s entirety
Find the best chocolate chip cookie for an individual user out of thousands
Understand the taste preferences of our users and their families
Responsibilities @ Yummly
We believe that amazingly crafted products are created by focusing on the user and design rather than money. You will not simply be churning out wireframes that product managers told you to make. You will be helping to define the strategy of Yummly as a design first company. We want to make Yummly the most useful, fun, and delightful online food experience in the world.
Contribute to the high level strategy of the company
Create novel ways to experience and interact with food with next generation food data
Design outstanding wireframes, user flows, layouts, and interactions for Web and mobile
Perform regular user research and user testing to help inform design decisions (prior experience not required)
Design the most useful most intuitive semantic search engine ever
Create a mobile shopping list experience that's easier to use than a post-it note
Help make Yummly the company people think of when they think of great design
Help turn Yummly into a ubiquitous kitchen platform that helps with anything and everything related to the kitchen
About You
If you're a great designer who lives and breathes the Web, who sees mediocre design and wants to fix it, who cannot stand sloppy, inattentive, or lame sites and apps, talk to us. We'd like someone that has a lot of these skills/qualities:
You have a world-class portfolio
You have experience designing web apps and mobile
You have familiarity with HTML 5 and CSS 3
You have the ability to incorporate user feedback and research into designs
You care about the craft of design
You think that less is more
You understand the full "stack" of design and the greater context that user experience fits into
You hate designing products that no one uses
You have a disciplined approach to managing your own projects
You desire to work with excellent people
You have good sense of humor
You love food
