Opportunity: UX Designer/Researcher
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic User Experience Professional to work with our User Experience Team at GetWellNetwork. For this position the core responsibility will be to work across projects to aid in the development of and drive design, functional specifications and create workflows based on user needs. Our cross functional teams are focused on building compelling and elegant user experiences that drive patient activation across multiple care settings. Our end users include patients, families, and all of those who care for them. This role places you front and center with each of the end user groups: capturing user feedback, running usability studies, focus groups etc. to ensure we get it right!
Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional team members (developers, product managers, graphic designers) on all user experience issues for the product.
Represent the end users needs to various internal audiences through analysis of user needs and creation of user task flows.
Work with team to develop and drive functional specifications within team environment to ensure products are intuitive, easy to use and meaningful to the end users.
Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
Propose Information Architecture, based on the product requirements.
Present product design work to the product team, and GetWellNetwork executives for review and feedback; responsibly and effectively advocate for users imparting day-to-day strategic design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, technology, content and business considerations.
Provide wireframes to communicate and illustrate your designs.
Create prototypes to facilitate meaningful and actionable end user testing.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define requirements via empirical data, usability studies, market research, and proven user centered design principles.
Must be interested in playing a role in changing the way patients and families experience health care today.
Must be proficient in AXURE or comparable prototyping tool.
Strong understanding of user research methodologies and how research results lead to improvements in the end-user?s experience.
In-depth knowledge of user interface design principles, human factors, user-centered design processes and interaction design guidelines.
Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative and unique solutions are desired.
Command of common design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) & knowledge of web standards such as HTML and CSS.
Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
Passion for learning more and becoming proficient with emerging technologies and conceptualizing their potential role in delivery of the GetWelNetwork user experience across the continuum of care.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
3+ years of experience working with consumer websites in the area of user experience and software interaction design.
2+ years of experience designing for mobile technologies (touch, voice, camera, SMS, etc.) and/or experience designing for games or immersive experiences.
Interdisciplinary educational background with majors in design, technology or business.
