User Experience Designer J. Hilburn
J.Hilburn is seeking an innovative, energetic and detail-oriented User Experience Designer to help design and deliver best in class digital experiences and technology solutions. You will be responsible for understanding all aspects of the company?s systems and target audiences. You will then translate business and user needs into highly usable, useful and desirable solutions. Working closely with business owners, product managers, developers and designers, you will develop IA documentation (user flows, site maps, navigation schemes, wireframes, functional specs etc.) for all our digital touch points and technology solutions (may include websites, Order Management System, iPad app, etc).
This position is based in Santa Monica, CA.
?Translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences and assist in identifying the key messaging, content and functionality that will support the desired objectives
?Develop solutions to support technology initiatives; produce all UX documentation including IA, user flows, site maps, navigation schemes, wireframes, functional specs, etc.
?Gather and research all pertinent information around digital efforts including, but not limited to: heuristics and usability evaluation of current experiences, competitive evaluation, content audit and primary and secondary user research
?Work with stakeholders and be a liaison between the stakeholders and designers
?Develop user personas and user scenarios that will help guide solutions that are based on user needs
?Define and document site organization and structure, including user paths, sitemaps, wireframes, navigation and functionality
?Assist copywriters with nomenclature, labeling and taxonomy that supports various user access points, navigation, and organization of content
?Provide support to engineering team during development and implementation
?Assist in measure and reporting on the effectiveness of initiatives and develop action plans accordingly
?5+ years experience creating interfaces, large-scale digital experiences, or applications
?Full understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to business problems
?Experience working with projects through the development lifecycle
?Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design, best practices and web standards
?Strong, but flexible, documentation skills based on project needs
?Knowledge of the agile practice
?Excellent written & oral communication and presentation skills
?Strong organization skills and meticulous attention to detail
?Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
?Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within inter-disciplinary teams
