Reporting to the Vice President of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for driving the user interface and user experience definition for the complete portfolio of WLAN products developed, distributed, and sold by Ruckus Wireless. Ruckus Wireless has the most complete set of solutions in the network equipment industry, and we market our solutions worldwide into both Enterprise as well as the Carrier/Service Provider markets.
Our continued growth has resulted in an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who is a self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic environment as part of the Ruckus team. You will be working closely with product management and development leaders to deliver high quality products in a fast-paced environment where an intuitive and compelling set of interface solutions is considered strategic to the company?s success.
Lead the development and subsequent maintenance of an overall UI/UX strategy for the complete portfolio of Ruckus Wireless products
Work collaboratively with Usability Analysts, Product Managers and Development Team leads to enhance / innovate the user experience
Drive UX concepts from initial brainstorming discussions through engineering-ready PRDs by designing high fidelity mockups and detailed descriptions of UX behavior
Model new UX concepts in working prototypes that can be distributed for customer and stakeholder feedback as part of user-centered design process
Work in a self-paced, self-managed fashion to quickly turn discussed concepts into wireframes and/or high fidelity mockups
Manage meetings where collaborative feedback is presented on new UX design ideas and drive to consensus amongst key stakeholders.
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications include the following:
5-9 years of general UI / UX experience with a strong focus on user-centered design
Strong knowledge in computer networks and networking technologies, actual hands-on IT experience preferred
Proven ability to drive user interface / user experience as a critical discipline and business driver
Have an excellent eye for design ? you should know a great UI when you see it and be able to explain why.
Ability to create UX wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and provide detailed descriptions of UX behavior
Working knowledge of HTML / CSS (HTML 4 a must ? HTML 5 preferred).
Facilitate UI / UX review meetings and usability tests with internal peers and customers as part of user-centered design process
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
Able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making
