User Interface Designer Workscape

Description

Workscapes User Interface Designers are responsible for UI design and development across all media and products. Primarily, this role requires creative design skill. Familiarity with agile-based UI design process and best practices is desired. Proficiency with web-based UI design tools and technologies expected. As an individual contributor (this is not a management role), the User Interface Designer works with all departments and all levels of employees within Workscape, including the executive team.

Responsibilities

User Interface design, reviews, and UI standards ownership and enforcement for Workscape (across technologies and a specific product)

Continually look for ways to improve the UI in terms of usability to the end user, ease of configuration and customization and cross product-line reuse of resources (images, CSS, etc.)

Mockup new applications/screens for approval by product management and for use by developers in implementing new features.

Qualifications

3 years of user interface design for enterprise-class web-based applications. Experience building rich internet applications a plus.
Experience with the complete software development lifecycle; experience with agile methodologies a plus
UI leadership experience and skills required
Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to author technical and application design documents.
Knowledge and/or experience the HR benefits domain a plus
Experience collaborating with senior technical staff

Education:
BS degree desired

Technical Skills:
Key Technologies: Flex, Flash, ActionScript, CSS, XML & XSL desired
Tools: Dreamweaver, Eclipse, image editing software, Rational Clear Case and Clear Quest a plus
Portfolio of recent UI samples required
