POSITION
The UX Consultant/Engineer position includes a variety of tasks both in delivery as well as in business and practice development. Expected Utilization is 50-75% billable.
In Delivery the UX Engineer/Engineer will:
? Be billable and engaged at client locations delivering consulting services involving iRise Visualization Modeling, User Experience Design, User Interface Design, Graphic Design and Artwork, as well as Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance, and/or general Systems Documentation work. On a daily basis the UX Engineer will:
- Analyze: gather, analyze, document and validate business, functional, and technical requirements for custom business applications; help define analysis processes, standards, and tools; ensure requirements are complete and accurate and fit with overall application, business function, business, and standards for self and others; identify components that need additional analysis; determine impact of new or changing requirements.
- Design: design models and simulations based on requirements; help define design processes, standards, and tools; ensure designs are complete and accurate and fit with overall standards and practices for self and others; identify components that need additional design; determine impact of new or changing designs.
- Plan: provide detailed and accurate estimates for specific modules and components; define dependencies between modules and components; assist with project plan.
- Manage: assist with resource allocation, scope control, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and status reporting.
? Support App Dev development teams at various client locations with iRise modeling questions and with general UXd, UId, or Graphic Design questions and deliverables.
In Business Development the UX Engineer will:
? Prepare and give presentations of the iRise Visualization and Integration products to current and potential customers.
? Prepare and give presentations of UXd and UId best practices to current and potential customers.
? Prepare marketing materials (Slides, Success Stories, Case Studies, Web Content) for consulting services.
? Support Sales process of either consulting account manager.
In Practice Development the UX Engineer will:
? Educate and instruct App Dev team on best practices in these disciplines.
? Conduct interviews of additional resources for UXd, UId, Graphic Design positions at iRise or on behalf or customers? requisitions.
? Advise on hiring and training decisions for those disciplines.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills:
? Experience with User Centric Design. Actively participated in User Interface Design and User Experience studies.
? Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
? Experience working in product design or software design with development resources.
? Willing to learn iRise or experienced on iRise and use iRise for UX modeling work.
? Either a strong Business Analyst with a UX background or a UX Specialist with strong BA background. Good understanding of traditional SDLC?s, including Waterfall, Rational Unified Process (RUP), UML, Agile
? Ability to work independently and unsupervised, with a high degree of quality of deliverables.
? Excellent presentation skills and communication skills a must. Presents him/herself well and professional in front of clients. Experience in sales situations. Excellent mastery of English language in writing and in discussions a must.
? Has a background in Consulting, possibly with a UI design company or one of the large consulting services organizations.
? Higher education in Visual Arts, Computer graphics Design, Human Computer Interface, or equivalent preferred.
Plus:
? Experience working with version control, requirements management, and issue tracking tools.
? Experience with project management; appropriate training (e.g. PMP certification) preferred. Used to work with Microsoft Project or equivalent.
? Experience with Quality Assurance
? Ability to code / work with / educate on HTML, DHTML, Java Script, AJAX, Flash, Flex, Action Script, Image and Video formats.
? BS in Computer Science or Engineering disciplines or equivalent strongly preferred.
