Leaf who? We?re a two year-old and still growing tech company on a mission to disrupt the mobile payments space. We operate from Intrepid Labs, a co-working space near Kendall Sq/MIT in Massachusetts (T-friendly!), the leading hub of innovation and technology.

Who we?re looking for? Leaf is searching for a UX Design Lead to join its team. The UX Design Lead will transform Leaf?s web and mobile products by creating simple, intuitive, and elegant experiences for our users. The right candidate for this role will establish a UX design strategy for the company, implement a user-centric design process, and advocate for a best of breed user experience.
What You?ll Do?.
Provide thought leadership and a unifying vision for the user experience
Be an advocate and evangelist for user experience across the organization
Establish, optimize and manage user experience methodologies, incorporating industry standard best practices
Coordinate and execute user research using qualitative and quantitative methods as appropriate, including focus groups, workshops, one-to-one interviews, usability and concept testing, surveys, field studies, and secondary research.
Access data from multiple sources (product requirements, tech constraints, UX research, Web analytics) and synthesize it in order to develop efficient user scenarios, taxonomies, classification schemes, navigation systems, design patterns, etc.
Recommend and prepare audience research approach
Lead the translation of research findings into actionable insights, opportunities, and solutions; communicate the insights and accompanying recommendations to product and design teams.
Stay abreast of new and innovative research tools, continuously focusing on ways to obtain user feedback more efficiently.
Create and effectively present UX deliverables (including but not limited to personas, wireframes, prototypes, scenarios, task flows, story boarding) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders.
Create user requirement documentation including use cases, storyboards, flowcharts/process flows, and functional specs
Initiate, conceptualize, and/or perform market and competitive research
Help define UX performance metrics and perform post-development usability testing to validate business needs and user goals.
Self-manage own tasks and schedules

8+ years experience in User Interface Design/Development or Human Factors Usability Engineering
Able to work on and/or own all facets of experience design across a wide range of projects. Facets include: Contributing to/developing approach materials; Moderation/facilitation; Analysis, findings, and recommendations
Ability to moderate an interface test and strategic sessions effectively
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to construct and deliver compelling and succinct presentations to internal stakeholders and leadership.
Personal passion and fervor for usability and design excellence
Strategic thinker combined with the ability to execute; can develop the usability and design strategies where the pathway is not obvious
Expert understanding of methods for designing easy to use interfaces, including user and task analysis, information architecture, interface design, and usability testing.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with and influence senior executives and internal clients.
Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering or Equivalent
Experience with Product Design a plus
