Our User Experience Designers at Gilt City are creative thinkers who effectively communicate their ideas and collaborate with members of our Product Management, Visual Design, Editorial, and Engineering teams to continually innovate in the e-commerce space. The role is responsible for creating detailed user experience design sets, providing interaction direction from de?nition to speci?cation and working with the Engineering, Design and Product management teams on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibility:
Define and communicate the UX direction using appropriate tools to describe intent. This includes: sketches, work?ows, wireframes, interaction speci?cations
Collaborate with product management, visual designers, editors, and engineers ? advocating for the best design for our customers
Interpret customer needs into effective and thoughtful design solutions
Create user-centered designs by considering site analytics, customer feedback, and research ?ndings
Conduct customer feedback panels on a monthly basis to make sure our research is up-to-date
Design solutions that meet measurable business objectives
Bring inspiring ideas and motivation into an energetic and collaborative team
Help create a long term growth strategy for the business
Maintain the overall product and feature roadmap, managing prioritization and tradeoffs against customer experience
Establish the product mission, goals, and supporting business metrics and indicators for success
Measure and analyze new and existing competitors
Qualifications:
3+ years of information architecture, interaction, and/or interface design experience
Proven experience leading ?design-thinking? and user-centered design practices across multiple functional disciplines
A portfolio which demonstrates problem solving in the various phases of user-centered design
Excellent communication skills (both in conversation and in writing)
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization
Pro?cient in latest design tools (InDesign, Illustrator, OminGraf?e)
Degree in Design-related ?eld (MA in Interaction Design or HCI preferred
Ability to work closely with and translate/document requirements for product development, UI and design organizations
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what?s necessary
