UX Researcher Goodreads
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We're looking for a talented UX Researcher with experience and interest in social applications. As part of our team, you'll conduct qualitative research including usability tests and real-world focus groups. Your work will play a critical role in improving our user experience and the design of new features. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a passion for applying an understanding of user needs to the design process.
Our mission at Goodreads is to help people find and share books they love. Along the way, we plan to improve the experience of reading and learning throughout the world. Our office is located in downtown San Francisco and we have about 40 employees. Goodreads is the world's largest site for readers and book recommendations and we have over 15 million members with more than 400 million books to their shelves.
Work with product managers and designers to identify and prioritize research opportunities
Conduct research using a variety qualitative methods, including usability testing and focus groups, with supporting quantitative methods such as surveys
Examine the relationship between user needs and user behavior
Evangelize research findings to cross-functional audiences within the organization through presentations and written reports
BA or BS with emphasis on qualitative research methods (preferably in social sciences, HCI, statistics, or a related field)
3 years of work experience in an applied research setting
Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
Strong problem solving abilities
Passion for design and technology
Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods and how they inform the design process
