JOB DESCRIPTION
Pinpoint MD is seeking an experienced User Experience/User Interface Designer and Developer to contribute to our software development life cycle. We are looking for a person who is outgoing, self-motivated, passionate about delivering high-quality products, performs well in a collaborative team environment, learns quickly, and desires to continuously develop their skills. Own the User Experience for major product areas and, working with others, help shape the overall UX/UI direction for the company. At Pinpoint MD, the user experience is not a checkbox of something we do and then move on, it is integrated into everything we do.
Our UX/UI designers perform the task of translating the requirements for a product?s optimal functionality into intuitive, engaging and interactive solutions. This entails the incorporation of market research and psychology, design of the human-computer interface for optimal effectiveness, inclusion of easily navigable content, and graphic design and finishing for maximum aesthetic appeal. The UX/UI Designer works primaryily with the following:
Design of graphical user interfaces and experiences, including navigation, workflows and clear communication of intended priorities on a screen - foundational to the site or product being created; every other aspect of the design experience goes on top of their storyboards and mockups for how the design will actually work
spends the most time with user research, testing, and psychology
deals with content specific to the site or product, as well as with user assistance tools
Concerned with the aesthetics of the final product
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Be able to point to a portfolio of work you have solely designed or contributed to
5+ years experience in successfully designing enterprise-scale, multi-tier, web-based commercial software applications. Experience with rich-client interfaces; preferably browser-based
BA degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or other relevant discipline
Mastery with HTML, CSS, JQuery, JSON, JavaScript, AJAX, and Mobile Interfaces
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite applications or comparable design toolkits
Rock solid skills in graphic design, with an eye for typography, composition, layout, color, and a pixel-level attention to detail. You must have a deep appreciation for clean, simple, usable interfaces
Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, contemporary/emerging architecture and navigation patterns
Strong understanding of industry trends, UX design principles and best practices
Ability to manage time and multiple deadlines effectively
Proficiency with raw HTML, HTML5, DHTML, CSS, basic Javascript and jQuery
Proficiency with cross-browser compatibility and best practices
Ability to communicate very clearly and easily with clients, Product Management and Development teams
Experience with successful design of user interfaces including functional requirements, user workflows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.
Experience with usability and the implications for user interaction
Able to manage time and multiple projects with short turn-around deadlines
Experience with consumer oriented sites and healthcare industry preferred
Past involvement in all phases of the Development process. Capable of being leading contributor to brainstorming sessions to elicit business requirements, creating wireframes, producing finished screens, writing UI specifications, and building prototypes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. You must be able to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience
In-depth knowledge of User Interface Design principals, Human Factors, User-Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability
Methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards, and the software development process. Equally important is an innate sense of how people perceive and interact with software.
