Vertical Marketing Manager Acquia

Acquia is seeking an experienced Vertical Marketing Manager to focus on generating demand and increasing market share in our key vertical markets. The ideal candidate is both passionate and aggressive when it comes to meeting their objectives. The ability to think strategically and execute tactically against a strategic plan is critical. The Vertical Marketing Manager needs to understand the dynamics of sales - both direct and the channel - and understand how to influence and leverage both sales forces. In this newly created position, you will be have the opportunity to play a key role in Acquia?s global growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Define market opportunities within target verticals
Establish a concise go to market plan with measurable goals for each of target verticals
Balance established application needs with emerging opportunities within the vertical markets
Develop positioning and messaging that resonates with customers across multiple personas ? business, digital marketing and IT ? in each of our target verticals
Present business strategies to key Acquia executives in sales, marketing, and products
Know the customer - establish close relationships with important customers and be able to evangelize how our products have been successful in different customer scenarios
Create comprehensive sales/marketing content and tools (i.e. articles and blog posts, sales presentations, marketing collateral, and web content)
Make recommendations into pricing and packaging decisions, based on requirements and expectations of vertical market
Evangelize and articulate to the sales organization, our growing partner channel and prospects and customers within these verticals
Work closely with sales leadership in each vertical market to define and execute programs that result in pipeline generation, reference able customers, and increased market share
Work closely with product and demand generation marketing to define and execute successful programs that generate top of the funnel leads and generate pipeline that proceeds forward to revenue
Requirements:
Proven track record in bringing solutions to market, including developing and executing GTM plans through launch, resulting in a strong market presence
5+ years of product and / or solutions marketing experience, preferably with web content management, cloud technologies
Experience marketing to industries including higher education, government, and media and entertainment preferred
Marketing degree, MBA preferred
Works equally well with business development, alliance, product management, sales, channel partners (internal and external), sales operations, support, and engineering to drive successful solutions
Demonstrates strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate those skills into creative, marketable collateral
Displays excellent written, verbal and presentation skills as well as the ability to translate technology features into business benefits
Willing to travel up to 40% in order evangelize product with partners, customers and business leaders as well as work with the relevant sales teams
