POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) is responsible for providing leadership and driving the Information Technology management process for the organization. The VP of IT is responsible for all IT functions including project management; network operations evaluating, deploying, operating and maintaining systems that meet growing company needs on a global basis. The VP of IT will provide strong leadership and excellent managerial skills in motivating, coaching, developing, and retaining a high performance IT department (currently comprised of 3 professionals). The VP of IT will work with senior executives to develop an IT strategy in alignment with both the long-term and short-term company goals and objectives. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement the Company?s Information Technology strategy & platform.
Provide leadership as to Information Technology Solutions across all disciplines globally that enable Aegerion?s business leaders to optimize technology solutions to leverage a lean organizational capability and capacity throughout all functions. Prepare and manage detailed IT budgets and resources plans to enable the company to meet its short-term and long-term goals;
Manage, develop, recruit and retain all IT staff, building a customer service oriented function with strong technical skills and capability;
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations;
Effectively Lead, where appropriate, cross-functional teams to address business or system issues;
Ensure a IT function that provides leadership to help desk activities and ensure that end users receive optimal support to maximize their productivity;
Manage purchasing of hardware and software products and manages software and support licenses;
Manage implementation and operations of all software systems, including document management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) packages aligned to Functional leader requests and needs.
Manage all ?technology needs? on a ?cutting edge? basis ensuring within cost parameters creative solutions that enable Aegerion?s users to optimize their productivity regarding meeting tools/phone systems and capability/video conferencing and capability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s degree, Master?s degree a plus, in Computer Science or related field required
12- 15 years technology leadership, project management and vendor management in complex, multi-location, multinational commercial environments required, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry;
Experience quickly scaling the IT infrastructure to support a rapidly growing company with many remote users strongly preferred;
Broad knowledge and experience with all aspects of information technology to include: Financial Accounting Software, ERP, IP networking, and CRM;
Experience of supporting the IT needs of a rapidly growing public company;
Demonstrated leadership and management skills;
Highly collaborative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability to cultivate IT as a ?Service Provider? mindset
