Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute manufacturing strategy for multiple product candidates (pre-commercial and commercial).
Plan, direct, and manage all manufacturing, scheduling, safety and distribution; ensure that all operations needs are met and maintained without interruption.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant cGMP regulations, guidelines and standards.
Identify opportunities for improvements across all manufacturing operations. Develop and implement projects and initiatives to take advantage of such opportunities. Identify and justify the resources necessary for effective and efficient production.
Work with company teams and team leaders to identify and resolve problems and issues related to manufacturing.
Direct the identification and timely resolution of technical issues; lead special projects and initiatives as may be required to resolve all product issues.
Lead cross-functional initiatives which utilize resources from across the organization to resolve complex commercial manufacturing issues and to direct commercial development activities to augment existing design space features and process models.
Education and Experience
The candidate will be expected to bring a real-world cGMP manufacturing perspective as well as creativity and energy to these teams in order to promote positive, collaborative, and effective relationships with internal stakeholders and key external suppliers.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the regulatory and business impact of making changes to existing manufacturing processes in order to help define the appropriate regulatory, manufacturing, and validation strategies for post-approval changes.
MS or PhD in chemical/biochemical engineering, biochemistry or Microbiology with a minimum of 8+ years of direct experience managing regulated manufacturing operations of biologics and liposomal products or a Bachelor?s degree with a minimum of 10+ years industrial experience, with broad knowledge of the biotech industry. Solid experience with managing complex, multi-product manufacturing work-groups is a must.
Mature organizational skills with well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proven capabilities for delivering multiple products and services in a team-based organization through influence and leadership.
Plant start-up experience is desirable.
